Makani A Kai Resort A-3

Hi. Our unit (A3) was just OK this time. This was our 5th Korean 6th time renting it. Nice new fridge this year and a new dining area ceiling fan installed while we were there...very nice. One negative was spots on the carpet, which we cleaned. There is also a spot on the deck carpet and the rubber edge on the deck I’d delaminating now. Other kind of ongoing issues the last 2 times we’ve rented this unit are the deck chairs are a bit shabby, and the silverware and kitchen utensils are a jumbled collection. We have purchased silverware and other kitchen items in the past to augment what is there, but the unit still needs a new can opener. We still had a great time though. Thanks for reading this. We had a great time in Makani a Kai A3. We have stayed there in different units many times since the late eighties! A3 is now beginning to look a little tired. Rosemary and the management team are superb, they were of assistance a couple of times. Owing to a misunderstanding, the door combination was changed while we were out for supper on our second-to-last night, and we had also problems with the lock box. We look forward to our next visit.

Was a good fit for our combined, 2 families, 4 adults and 2 teens. Loved the ground floor lanai. Beautiful serene setting!

This is the second time we've stayed at Makani a Kai and the first time in this unit. The location is perfect! We had our morning coffee on the small lanai while listening to the waves and watching whales breach in the bay. The bedrooms and closets are good-sized and the beds, sheets and towels are comfortable. Well-stocked kitchen and good wifi. We have already made our reservations to come back next year.

We have stayed here more times then one, and love it. It is a bit outdated, but clean. The location of the condo itself is what is the best. Beach and ocean right out your slider. It is the best.

La casa está bien .. está cómoda frente a la playa .. la comunicación es mala con el rentero no esperes que te respondan rápido, hablo del al menos medio día y no te envían nada de información hasta que la pidas ... la lavandería está fuera del condominio pero de fácil acceso .. está lejos así que necesitas carro si ocupas alimento hay un local caminando pero vende muy pocas cosas .. y a un alto costo entonces sale mejor ir en auto a otro lugar a comprar ..

I have been staying in A3 for years. It seems like my second home. Little has changed in that unit since I began staying there from the crazy light switches to the bedspreads to the green carpet and the glass coffee table where we continue to bump our legs. While these things seem like criticisms we embrace the quirkiness and will return for another wonderful stay in A3.

My family has been vacationing in this exact spot ( before condos) since 1959. So we have known the previous owners and management of most these units for a long time. I also want to say Rosemary and her staff were more then professional and helpful. You are lucky to have them. The unit needs updating!! Central air, a new couch, get rid of the ugly mirrors and carpet. The Lanai carpet was a disgrace.If you want to charge big $’s then take a little pride and make the unit attractive and comfortable.

I love staying in Maalaea. It is the perfect location for me, quiet, few people, great beach. The unit A3 is right in front of the beach. I have stayed in this unit many times over the years and while I love it I have noticed that it needs some updating and sprucing up. The carpet on the patio was torn , there was a hole in the screen, the kitchen lacked enough mugs, pans,a cheese grater etc. My family and I dreamed about owning the unit and how we could make it better. It definitely has good bones. All in all it is still my favorite vacation spot.

Great location. Slider lock ,Window locks,screens need repair or replacement. An upgrade to the security system would be good. My car was stolen from the parking lot and the license plate of the theives car could not be read.

After spending time on a busy beach or near a bustling resort area, we were always grateful to return to our peaceful oasis at the condo. It's a beautiful setting that refreshed our souls. The king bed was very comfortable and there were plenty of fluffy bath towels, as well as sufficient beach towels. Minor improvements could be made: fix the bathroom fan, have at least one non-stick pan in the kitchen, provide more glasses, and add another towel rack (maybe an over the door one?) to the master bathroom. The couch will need to replaced soon--or at least have more pillow. We loved the beautiful grounds and the condo seemed very clean.

Great location & views, with just steps to the beach. The unit is very dated, but bathrooms have been recently upgraded. Couch is uncomfortable, green carpet & lots of mirrors. Kitchen is minimally equipped, needs more silverware. Gas grills either didn't light or barely came on. I told the onsite manager about them, and she just brushed me off. Property management company was very slow in responding to voice mails, when I needed to extend my stay. However, they did respond to emails faster.
