Kanai A Nalu Resort 316

My wife and I are repeat customers for over a 30-years. We came this trip celebrating my 80th birthday with our immediate family renting 3 units. Over a year in advance Destination Maui set up 3-units for my family meeting our guest-bedroom configuration requirements. We all had a great time and Destination Maui played the major role.

We have stayed at this facility numerous times in the past and this was the best one so far. Other than some noisy kids in the pool we really enjoyed our stay.

Front and sliding doors very difficult to open. Could not enjoy lanai because sliding door very hard to secure. Couple guests had to shower in cold water. No hot water after two people. Clean towels had a wet towel smell... was not dried thoroughly.

This was about our 15th or more time to stay in the Kanai a Nalu Condo complex over the years. And as always it was a great experience. Maalaea is a hidden gem. Its central location makes it easy to go all over the island. Its beach is very nice and never crowded and had turtles swimming near the shore . The Unit was well maintained, and had new appliances. The view off the lanai was great. You could sometimes see whales from there. Highly recommended.

Our overall experience at this condo is good. The location and the view are excellent. The accommodations are good for 4 people (though 6 probably won't be bad).

Minor issues. The check-in instructions failed to mention that once the code is entered, one has to lift up (instead of pushing down) the handle. We had to call the emergency line, which on the first try, the person did not pick up, leading to some anxious moments. This piece of important info should be in both the e-mail that we got as well as in the separate text that was sent to us.

Another annoyance is that all the pots and pans are badly scratched. Given that we tended to eat breakfast at the unit, it made us cringe a bit in using it.

Despite these little issues, we had a good time.

Excellent experience at kan316 with Destination Maui. They were professional, responsive and accommodating to requests. The place was well stocked, clean and comfortable. Sofa bed was comfortable enough (a bit saggy but concerns for the week). Bathrooms are a bit dated but functional/clean. Washer and dryer were very handy (although they only take small loads). We were able to park 2 cars though only one was guaranteed (lot wasn’t full probably because our trip was in May). Location is great for those with an active itinerary. You could even walk to the aquarium or harbour and take the bus if you didn’t have a car for the day.

The rental was in good shape and the property manager was quick to assist on a few small items. The view was lovely. We would stay there again especially if the same support staff is in charge.

Location of the condo could not be better; view and sound of the ocean provide perfect setting for relaxing time even if one never leaves the room. We loved the proximity to the beach and other attractions.
Washer and dryer made the stay even more convenient. The property was clean and provided for a great community atmosphere. We’ll definitely be coming back.

The property lived up to its description. I loved the ocean view from the balcony and the well kept grounds. The condo had everything for a comfortable stay and everyone was friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place to other travellers.

We enjoyed our two weeks in this condo. The location was perfect for everything we wanted to do on the island, and the property was usually fairly quiet and peaceful. The condo itself could use some updating, but everything worked. We were surprised to find that there were exposed nails in two places in the carpet- where it meets the entryway and at the entrance to the smaller bedroom. We had to put bath rugs over the areas after two of us stepped on nails with our bare feet.

Constantly windy. Noisy due to planes overhead. Pool closeby so noisy. No AC in bedroom number 2. AC in other rooms would not cool down the place till 11 at night. Difficult to access beach due to lack of an access point.

316 had partial ocean views, fans in all the rooms and A/C which we did not use in April because of the consistent breeze in Ma'alaea Bay. We slept with windows open to the sound of the ocean. The pool had a fountain that covered up most of the noise from the pool. Pool was a great feature for the family. Beach was private and not crowded. Outdoor shower by the pool/beach. Unit 316 had a stacking washer/drawer which was very useful! Ma'alea Bay is central to all areas in Maui.

We had a great experience here. Rented #316 for 6 days. Everything went so smooth from booking to check out. Room had an excellent view of pool and ocean. Would come back again.

We loved this condo, the pool was fun, the access to the beach was awesome. Hearing the waves is one of my favorite parts of a vacation. The mini golf place and the aquarium right up the street were both really fun. The only part I didn’t love was the window washers that rang the doorbell at 7 am. They also tried to unlock the door which scared my kids to death. They said they didn’t know anyone was in the unit. We also didn’t know you had to turn the timer knob for the air conditioning to turn on. But someone from management let us know after we called.
